NEPTUN traces its origins back to 1911, when a workshop specialized in manual casting and the production of parts for the oil industry and agriculture was established.

Over time, the company has constantly evolved, adapting to the technological and industrial requirements of each era.

In 1948, the company was nationalized and received its current name, and in 1959, it began the production of general-purpose gearboxes, marking an important step in its development as a manufacturer of mechanical transmissions.

After 1990, NEPTUN launched an extensive technological modernization process, constantly investing in production capacities and product range diversification. Since 2000, the company has been operating as a joint-stock company with private Romanian capital.
